For Empresas Lipigas, safety is a key factor to the development of the business, the management of gas, its main product, requires the adoption of the highest standards and procedures in each of the stages of our value chain.

We promote a culture of safety that aims to protect the integrity and health of all persons working in the companies of the group, as well as that of our customers, suppliers and members of the communities where we operate.

We are also committed to the protection of the environment, implementing measures that will reduce the impact of our operations on the environment and initiatives that contribute to the sustainable development in the countries where we operate.

CERTIFICATIONS

  • Chile

In December 2016, Lipigas concluded the certification of all of its larger facilities under OHSAS 18,001:2017 Health and Safety in the Workplace Management Systems, the most important international standard in this area.

Thus, achieving the goal imposed that the 14 plants that gather the main operations and the greater number of people count with the methodology that enables the implementation of an Integrated Safety Management System.

In Chile, Lipigas began the process in 2012, when the first plants were certified, adding others located in different parts of the country in the following years. The last two certified in 2016 were the plant in Copiapó and the Company’s administrative offices located at Apoquindo in Santiago, Chile.

ABS Quality Evaluations, acting as an external auditor of the process through management system audits, handled the certification.

  • Peru

Lima Gas also has the OHSAS certification in the Arequipa and Trujillo plants, since 2014 and 2015, respectively. At the close of this issue, we were waiting for the conformity of the certification of the Callao, Juliaca and Piura facilities.

  • Colombia

In 2016, 13 bottling plants recertified under the Colombian Technical Regulation (Resol. 180581). In addition, Chilco maintains the ISO 9001:2008 quality management systems certification, organization-wide, managed through the ISOtools software.

ISO 14001: 4 plants in Chile have this certification, which aims to support the implementation of an environmental management plan. Certified plants are:

Coquimbo
Concón
Rancagua

This standard describes the process the Company must follow in order to achieve a good performance in this area, requiring respect towards environmental laws in the country.
